Flesh & Buns Oxford Circus is delighted to welcome Urakasumi for a one-off sake pairing event.
We’ve taken four sakes from Urakasumi’s range, and paired them with some of our favourite dishes from across the Flesh & Buns menu.
Whether you’re completely new to the world of sake, or a sake lover – there’ll be plenty to learn from the event hosts, with a chance to ask questions and learn about the intricate world of sake from some true masters.

Paired with Chilli Miso Brisket

Chipotle miso BBQ sauce & pickles, served with a bao bun and steamed rice

 

Urakasumi Umeshu

Paired with Ice Cream Bun

Fried bao bun, crispy noodles, caramel and chocolate, served with black cherry soft serve

About Urakasumi

Founded in 1724 at Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture. Since the 1830s, Urakasumi has been brewing sake as a Omiki (sacred sake) brewery for Shiogama Shrine, which has a history of over 1,000 years and the most prestigious shrine at the region. The current president, Koichi Saura, is the 13th generation head of the company.

Shiogama has been known as a scenic place for expressing poems since the Heian period, and has been featured in many poems. Shiogama is also known as a port town of the most thriving fishing and marine product industries nationwide and Sanriku coast where is very rich in marine nature and fishing ground nearby.

Nestled in the Copyright Development at the top of Berners St. This feasting lair offers secrecy at our private bar and a whole host of bountiful modern Japanese food to gorge on in the restaurant. At our heart we’re Izakaya but in our soul we’re willing to push the boundaries and indulge our senses and set our mouths on fire.

Covent Garden

The original basement restaurant – Covent Garden was the birth site of Flesh & Buns and it’s in this underground bunker that we set the nights alight. This feasting fairground is indulgent yet fierce with ample private spaces for secluded dining and bountiful modern Japanese feasting food to gorge on. At our heart we’re Izakaya but in our soul we’re willing to push the boundaries and indulge our senses and set our mouths on fire.
